FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AND AQUACULTURE HOLDS WELCOME CEREMONY FOR NEW STUDENTS OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2026 - 2027

On the morning of September 8th, 2026, the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture held a Welcome ceremony for Cohort 20 freshmen in the Main Hall of Bac Lieu University. Amid the excitement of the first days of the new academic year, more than 140 freshmen had the opportunity to meet their lecturers, become familiar with their new learning environment, and officially begin a new journey as members of the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture.

Besides, it was such an honor to have the presence of Mr. Duong Minh Hieu, Deputy Head of Individual Customer Department, Agribank Bac Lieu Branch, together with the bank's officers and employees attedning the ceremony; Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Xuan, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture; Dr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Dean of the Faculty; leaders of the Departments of Aquaculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, and Crop Science and Rural Development; faculty lecturers; representatives of the Faculty Youth Union; the executive boards of the Green Agriculture Club and the "Blue Waves" Arts Club; class representatives and executive committees; and, most importantly, more than 140 Cohort 20 freshmen.

The ceremony opened with musical performances prepared and presented by senior students from the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture, creating a cheerful, lively, and welcoming atmosphere. The performances also served as a heartfelt greeting from senior students to the Cohort 20 freshmen, strengthening connections and fostering a sense of belonging on their first official day as members of the Faculty.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Xuan, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture, welcomed the Cohort 20 freshmen and provided an overview of Bac Lieu University, the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture, its teaching staff, departments, academic programs, and specializations. She also shared information about the learning and personal-development environment, student activities, and academic directions for the coming years. This helped the freshmen gain a clearer understanding of their programs, the Faculty's educational environment, and the development opportunities available to them. She encouraged the new students to take an active approach to their studies, strengthen their knowledge and skills, participate enthusiastically in Faculty activities, and continually strive for strong academic performance throughout their time at the University.

Continuing the program, Mr. Pham Duy Khanh, a member of the University Youth Union Executive Committee and Secretary of the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture Youth Union, introduced the Faculty's Youth Union work and youth movements. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President of the Green Agriculture Club, and Ms. Le Hong Gam, President of the "Blue Waves" Arts Club, then introduced their clubs' activities in professional development, practical experience, culture, the arts, and student exchange. Through these activities, the Faculty Youth Union and its clubs provide an environment in which students can build solidarity, become more active and creative, develop essential skills, and nurture their talents. These opportunities also help Cohort 20 freshmen gradually adapt to the Faculty's learning environment, personal-development activities, and student life.

A meaningful feature of the program was the support provided by the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development - Bac Lieu Branch. Representatives of Agribank Bac Lieu introduced policies, products, and support programs for students and presented scholarships to encourage them in their studies. The bank's involvement not only provided valuable support to students but also demonstrated the connection among the University, businesses, and learners in education and human resource development.

During the ceremony, Cohort 20 freshmen interacted with Faculty leaders and lecturers, asking questions and discussing their fields of study, curricula, student activities, and other matters related to their studies. Faculty leaders and lecturers responded directly to the students' questions, providing them with essential information before they began their studies at the Faculty.

The ceremony in the Main Hall concluded with commemorative photographs featuring Faculty leaders, lecturers, invited guests, representatives of the Faculty Youth Union and student clubs, and all Cohort 20 freshmen. Afterwards, the freshmen joined their academic advisors in their classrooms for orientation activities. There, they became acquainted with their advisors, discussed matters related to study and personal development, elected their class committees, and completed the remaining orientation activities.

The welcome ceremony for Cohort 20 freshmen concluded in a cheerful, friendly atmosphere filled with optimism. More than 140 freshmen have now officially become new members of the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture. The journey ahead will bring challenges, but it will also offer many opportunities for them to learn, gain experience, mature, and realize their potential. With the support of lecturers, the University, partner businesses, and senior students, Cohort 20 students are expected to remain proactive, work diligently in their studies, actively develop their skills, and build a dynamic, united, and memorable cohort together.
