On September 25, 2026, at the final round of the fourth Student Startup and Innovation Ideas Competition organized by Bac Lieu University, a team from Class 18DBVTV in the Plant Protection program, the Faculty of Agriculture and aquaculture, was honored with a Consolation Prize for its project entitled "Development of an Insect Rearing and Specimen Production Model."

Inspired by the need for visual learning materials in teaching, scientific research, and STEM education, students including Phan Thị Kim Xuyến, Sơn Kham, and Lê Hoàng Minh, under the supervision of Ms. Phạm Thị Thắm, MSc, developed the idea of establishing a model for rearing insects and producing insect specimens. The project aims to create specimen collections for study, research, and hands-on exploration of the natural world. It also seeks to harness the distinctive forms and colors of insects to develop artistic, gift, and decorative products. This innovative approach combines specialized knowledge in Plant Protection with practical needs, helping to promote the scientific, educational, and aesthetic value of insects while opening up opportunities for product commercialization.
